about
In and of itself, Heather Sommerhauser’s voice is a magical thing. On her Big Ego album Remember The Magic, she pairs it with ‘80s-inspired synth pop—the kind that would make Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis nod along approvingly—and it’s clear that an alchemical process is afoot. For this live performance, recorded at 850 W Lincoln just after the completion of a West Coast tour with Izzy and the Fins, Sommerhauser let’s it rip on a mindblowing cover of Tears For Fears existentialist anthem “Head Over Heels” and “Remember The Magic.” Produced by Chris Schlarb of Psychic Temple this Out of Site session is a mind-blower.
